Al Capone was born January 17, 1899 - January 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. He was born to italian immagrates from Naples who moved to the United States in 1893, Gabreile and Teresina Capone. Al Capone was known as Al but his actual name was Alphonse his friends called him Scarface, Snorky or the Big Fellow. He joined a gang led by Lucky Luciano. He dropped out of New York public school at the age of 14. Al was a sibling of 7 other brothers and sisters. Al was expelled from public school and then dropped out. He was influenced by Johnny Torrio. He later joined the Five Points gang after being involved with other smaller, less important games. Al was to marry Mae Josephine Coughlin, but he was under the age of 21 and needed consent from his parents, which his parents granted and he and Mae were married. In the year of 1919 Al fled his home to Chicago. In 1925, Torrio retired as head of the Five Points gang and Al took over. He ran the prostitution, gambling, and bootlegging operations as Prohibition started. In 1927 Al Capone's estimated worth was 100 million dollars. In 1931, he was tried and found guilty of federal income tax evasion and was to pay 80,000 dollars. While in jail he suffered from paresis, a form of syphillis. Al was the enemy of the North Side Gang and they attempted to t murder him several times. The St. Valentines Day Masacre occured on February 14, 1929. It was the brutal murder of seven victims in a garage. Dion and Al did not get along well because of their mobs being enemies. Dion's death spiked the mob wars. after Dion O'Banion was killed the two gangs became rivals.Quote: "I am like any other man. All I do is supply a demand." In many ways Al Capone and George Clooney are similar. They both "rule"/"ruled" the time the are/did live in. George Clooney is like the King of Hollywood. Al Capone was the king of New York. They both rule through fear, yet George a little less fear. George runs Hollywood through the fear of his ability to act well. Whereas Al Capone ruled through the actual fear and killing of others.
